Each year the Virginia Office of EMS hosts the annual EMS Symposium, usually in Norfolk, VA. This year, several of our organization's members made the trek across 64 to spend a few days learning about various EMS topics, including mass casualty incidents, explosion and blast injuries, obstetrics and pediatrics, patient assessment, and how to care for geriatric patients. A few of us spent an afternoon at Eastern Virginia Medical School in their cadaver lab learning about anatomy and physiology!
